Lesson Guide
Explanation
This paper is in the shape of an Edutest scholarship section: thirty minutes, multiple choice, no calculator, mixing Year 9 mathematics with numerical reasoning — number patterns, rates and puzzles. Edutest does not publish its item count, so this paper is sized to thirty minutes at about seventy seconds a question. Keep moving: if a question is taking more than two minutes, guess, mark it and come back.
Your Turn
Before you start, say the plan once: read twice, draw it, write each step down, never leave a blank.
Watch Out
An easy calculation does not mean an easy question. The trap is in the reading — "odd", "exactly", "at least", "each must touch".
📌 Key Points — this lesson in a nutshell
- 26 questions in 30 minutes, four options A–D, no calculator.
- Half the paper is numerical reasoning — patterns and puzzles, not syllabus content.
- Pace matters most: about 70 seconds a question. Mark it, guess, move on, come back.
- No penalty for a wrong answer — never leave a blank.
