Younger children do best with you next to them
The lessons are written to be read by the student, but a Year 3 or 4 child gets a lot further with an adult in the room.
- Get them set up, then let them drive. Open the lesson on their tablet or laptop and hand it over. Sitting alongside for the first few lessons is usually enough.
- Read the question together when they stall. At this age a wrong answer is more often a misread question than a gap in the maths. Point at the words rather than giving the answer.
- Keep it short and regular. Two or three short sessions a week beat one long one, and stopping while they still feel like they are winning is what brings them back.
- Praise the second attempt. Getting it wrong, opening the worked solution and going again is the part that actually builds the learning — notice that out loud, not just the score.

Is it really free?+
Yes. Every lesson is free to read with no account. A free account unlocks the self-marking exercises and quizzes and saves your child's progress.
Which syllabus does it follow?+
The NSW Mathematics K–10 Syllabus (2022), from Stage 2 (Years 3–4) to Stage 5 (Years 9–10). Lessons are tagged with the syllabus outcome they teach, so you can match them to what is being taught at school.
Does it help with OC, selective, NAPLAN or scholarship tests?+
Yes. There are classes for the Year 3 and Year 5 NAPLAN numeracy tests, the Year 4 OC test (Mathematical Reasoning and Thinking Skills), the Year 6 selective test, and Years 9–10 scholarship and AMC-style papers. Test practice is written without a calculator, in the tests' own answer formats.

Pick your child's year above. Each year page lists its classes and every lesson; start with the first lesson of the class, or jump to the topic they are doing at school.
Can my child use it on their own?+
From about Year 5, mostly yes — the lessons are written to be read by the student, with a worked solution behind every question. Younger children get much further with an adult alongside for the first few lessons.
